Colocation is a system where you buy or rent a server and house it in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) with your server host. The benefits of this arrangement are that your host provides the environment and connectivity which otherwise would be prohibitively expensive for a small company, and you maintain operational control over your server and its facilities. Some of the main advantages of having your server offsite in a NOC are:

Connectivity
The NOC is specifically designed for server housing. There are many separate bandwidth feeds to the building from various providers. This makes your server's Internet connection both reliable and cost-effective.
Environmental
The air in the NOC is cooled, filtered and monitored. Your server's life is extended when it is run in a temperature-controlled, low humidity and dust-free environment.
Reliability
The NOC is power fed from a reliable power grid with redundant backup generators.
Security
There are security personnel on site 24 hours a day who monitor the complex alarm systems. Only authorised company technicians may enter the NOC. All other visitors have to be authorised and escorted on the premises.
Skilled Staff
Should you need assistance, skilled staff are available to help with any problems with your server(s).

What do we offer?

Primarily, we offer colocation server hosting with the flexibility for you to concentrate on providing your customers what they need.

Some of the facilities we provide with every server hosting include:

Bandwidth usage monitors
We provide bandwidth usage graphs for every port on our Cisco switches.
Realtime server monitoring
It's nice to see at a glance if all the services on your server are running. If you wish, you can have monitoring on your server.
Secondary DNS
You can have your hosted domains seconded on our DNS servers.

Hosting Notes.

1 Unit (U) is 1.75 inch in height. Rack mounted server cases are measured in Units. You can put a server with two HDs and 2 network cards in a 1U case. So, the smaller your server - the more you save. Rackspace is a valuable resource, hence we charge £20 per U. If you want more space, contact us to discuss what you need..

There is an initial set-up fee of £100 per server, covering installation and connection.

All charges are shown on a monthly basis.

Bandwidth is burstable to 10Mbit/s UK, 1Mbit/s International and is sold on a GB used per month basis.

Thinking of colocating a server with us? We suggest you read our colocation FAQ.

Bandwidth Costs.

Buy what you need.

We understand that capacity planning is not always an exact science, so we will notify you when you reach 95% of your bandwidth limit in order for you to increase your purchased bandwidth. Unlike other ISPs we offer a 5% band overrun buffer, so if you stay within 105% of your purchased band then you will not be penalised. Once you go over 105% of the band purchased then you will be charged £10 per GB thereafter.

You Get:

2 IP addresses

Extras:

Additional IP address £10 per year.
APC remote power control £50 per year.

Bandwidth in GB Cost
